Are beginners welcome?
Yes. You can start without any previous musical experience. Your teacher will help you get comfortable at the violin and build a foundation step by step.
Do you teach children and adults?
Yes. We teach kids, teens, and adults. For a young child, ask our team about readiness and the best starting point.
Do I need a violin before my trial?
No—we provide a violin for your free trial if you do not have one yet. Let us know when arranging your trial so we can help with sizing. For ongoing lessons, your teacher can guide you toward a suitable instrument to rent or buy for practice at home.
What does the free trial include?
A chance to meet a teacher, share your goals, and try a violin lesson before deciding whether to enroll. Beginners and experienced students are welcome.
How much are ongoing lessons?
Tuition is $150 per month for weekly 30-minute private lessons. It also includes access to recital opportunities, group performances (practicums), and our token rewards system. Ask our team about available lesson times and enrollment details.
Are recitals and group performances included in tuition?
Yes! Tuition includes access to a variety of recital opportunities and group performances, which we call practicums. These give students opportunities to share what they’re learning, build performance experience, and make music with others. Ask your teacher about upcoming events and opportunities that fit your level.
How does the token rewards system work?
Students can earn tokens and redeem them for prizes such as games, gift cards, and treats. The token system is included in tuition and adds a fun way to celebrate their efforts. Your teacher can explain how to earn tokens and which rewards are available.
Can I choose the music I learn?
Yes. Tell your teacher what you enjoy, from classical repertoire to fiddle tunes, popular songs, or film soundtracks. We use music suited to your level alongside the technique and musical foundations that help you grow.
Where are lessons held?
DeGamba is at 23168 St Francis Boulevard, Suite 300, St Francis, MN 55070. We welcome students from St. Francis, Oak Grove, Bethel, Anoka, Blaine, Elk River, Isanti, and surrounding communities.
Do you teach beginners and advanced violinists?
Yes. Beginners start with a solid foundation in posture, bowing, listening, and finger placement. Developing and advanced players can work on shifting, vibrato, varied bow strokes, double stops, harmonics, and more demanding repertoire. Progress follows your readiness and goals.
Are lessons based on the Suzuki method?
Our teachers draw from Suzuki materials, other violin methods, graded repertoire, and their own teaching experience. Lessons are tailored to the student rather than using one fixed curriculum for everyone.
