“Music is God’s gift to man, the only art of Heaven given to earth, the only art of earth we take to Heaven.” Johann Sebastian Bach
As a music teacher, Addison believes music is a life long gift. “I started piano lessons as a child, but focused my musical energy on my violin studies around the age of twelve. I love classical music, specifically orchestral scores for film. How something written so long ago can work so well in modern storytelling is inspiring and speaks to the power of classical composition.”
Music is powerful and can be used to motivate any action. Music is also therapy. It is a way to express emotions and feelings or a way to change a mood. Music can be a way to expose something difficult, a way to heal, a way to work through a problem, a way to worship or a way to relax after a long day or an intense experience.
Each 30 minute lesson will be comprised of both furthering musical expression and strengthening foundational support. Addison especially emphasises that each student’s individual musical aspirations come first. Learning the violin is rewarding and fun and needs to be taught openly. Addison teaches primarily through the Galamian method but moves through different curriculums freely based on how each individual student responds.
Addison is always available for lessons and collaboration. If you want to chat about music, art, trains, or anything else, don’t hesitate to reach out.
